Our Approach

Our approach is meant to help you supplement your own thinking to strengthen your strategy.  We know that if you have responsibility for a business or policy issue, you think about it a lot.  So in a typical assignment we gear our activities to support that thought and help you apply it to whatever issues need attention.  We combine knowledge and experience with the discipline of a formal thinking framework - a strategy template - to identify and structure insights into strategy.

Our principal framework of thought is called means-end theory that breaks down human decision-making into five inter-related elements of motivation - from the very tangible to the very intangible. Deeply rooted in both academic thought and practical application, the means-end framework underpins every aspect of our work; from framing the essential challenge, to organizing existing research, to identifying fresh insights from key people, to developing creative strategies, to evaluating specific tactics.
